Yellowcard Album

Monday, August 30, 2004 09:17 AM

I think this entire album is great. I don't think a single track on the album is bad. Amazing.

I knew it!!!

Friday, August 27, 2004 02:42 PM

Caption: "Man I really suck!!"Oh man I knew that this USA basketball was going to suck big donkey balls!!! I should've bet on them and I probably would have made some money!!!! Sucks!!! I can't believe I even watched the telecast here at the airport!! Looks like it's time to pre-board.

Ups & Downs

Friday, August 27, 2004 12:55 AM

Damn I can't believe it, their last record wasn't all that great, but right away on this new record "Ups & Downs: Early Recordings and B-Sides", it seems in my very un-music industry related opinion they are back on top with this album. Just awesome! I've also noticed most of these songs I've also heard before except for this song, which I think is new but could possibly be old.Artist: Saves The DayAlbum: Ups & Downs: Early Recordings and B-SidesTrack: Ups & DownsAnd I'm gonna get toThe bottom of thisGonna peel back my skinAnd look at myself shaking and shiveringAnd I'll get the rope, from in the houseSurvey the scene, finding two of the tallest treesAnd I'm tying myself up, above the cool earthTo dangle in the twilight (whoah)And I'm gonna get toThe bottom of thisGonna peel back my skinAnd look at myself shaking and shiveringAnd as my skin collects in a pile on the groundI'll radiate heat, and turn off my headAnd just pretend that I don't existThen, I'll see clearly to the endOf the ropes that I've been hanging from (whoa, oh, oh)I say, loosen to the trees, I plummet to the groundBe impaled and turned around (turning right around)Finally free from the ups and downsAnd I'm gonna get toThe bottom of thisGonna peel back my skinAnd look at myself shaking and shiveringAnd I'm gonna get toThe bottom of thisGonna peel back my skinAnd look at myself shaking and shivering

Awake again at this hour!

Thursday, August 26, 2004 03:49 AM

Ugh, I can't sleep, and I gotta be at work early in the mornin' I don't know how to solve this particular problem of mine. And I hate it!!!!! This completely sucks, and one of the particular things I hate in general. I'm taking the time to look at my website at the moment and think of ways of stream lining my site design. Especially that "home" page portion. There's gotta be a way of keeping the images smaller, and not loading all of those rss feeds, because there are a lot!!! Plus for some reason the iTunes RSS feed isn't updating it's image properly. Anyways I'll figure it out, and I hope to get the site streamlined, and fully completed, yes that means the project and bands page should finally be complete.

Open Minded?

Set Phasers To Stun

Wednesday, August 25, 2004 03:58 AM

This song is off Taking Back Sunday's latest album "Where You Want To Be." I think I've mentioned this before but this album's first impression for me was...I can't believe I bought this shit. But honestly it's grown on me. It's not as good as Yellowcards latest, but there are some awesome tracks on this album. Here's one I'm fond of, I really dig the title.Artist: Taking Back SundayAlbum: Where You Want To BeTrack: Set Phasers To StunSay yes, say yes, say yes, say yesSay yes, say yes, say yes, say yesI'm sorry it took me so longI'm sorry it took me so long (to come around)I'm sorry it took me so long (to come around)Your famous last words started once your fingers hit the snoozeJust nine more minutes, please..(And they) They all know where to find meEvery word that I said, what a big mistakeIt's the words you left out, That's keeping me awayWell I will never make another promise (without you)I will never make another promise (with you in mind)So pace the stairs to your apartmentLike it's where you wanna be(where you wanna be)It's where you wanna be(where you wanna be)I'm sorry it took me so longI'm sorry it took me so long (to come around)I'm sorry it took me so long (to come around)Well theres a secret I've been perfecting,I swore I wouldn't but you let meI'm comfortably confused(and you...) Compact Flash, takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

Wednesday, August 25, 2004 03:37 AM

Simply awesome!!!! Okay so I've messed with only two of the 6 type of media that is now available for digital cameras, and I'd have to say out of the two i've used i've only had consistent problems with one of the two and that would be that "SD Card" format!!!!! But this article confirms my backing of this one particular media that I just simply love!!!! And that's Compact Flash baby!!! Woohoo!

Things to do before I turn 26

Tuesday, August 24, 2004 08:21 PM

Now granted for historical reference this list was created at midnight on the morning of my birthday.1. Get down below my body weight goal, and maintain that weight.2. Complete a marathon in under 5:30, would really like to aim for a lower than 4:30 time.3. Be more aggressive with women.4. Do a bicycle competition.5. Participate in a basketball league, on a consistent basis.6. Be completely debt-free.7. Snowboard in Canada.8. Travel to another country (on another continent, and not to be confused with snowboarding in Canada!).9. Learn to surf.10. Start my own consulting business, and quit current job.11. Attempt to live in another country, for at least a year.

White Castle Exists!

Sunday, August 22, 2004 04:43 PM

I never knew that there really is such as place as "White Castle", merc seems to have found it!! He's back east and sent me this link.

Olympic Games

Sunday, August 22, 2004 04:25 PM

This entry should really go into the marathon section, but I really don't know. So I was at the gym, and guess what is on...the olympics, and of course with my strange luck, the womens marathon competition is on. Crazy to see people going through what I experienced. The even crazier part is the fact that these ladies are hard core, runners, well duh..they are in the olympics!!! The thing that surprised me the most is that it's a real race for them. They are all going for the gold. So for a majority of the race this lady was in second place, and trying to catch up to this 90 pound Japanese lady that was just kicking some serious ass! This lady (pictured below) is seriously one of the craziest people i've ever seen in the olympics, I mean i've watched the olympics before but dude this lady was really pushing it. Perhaps it's cause i've done something remotely in the same ballpark as her. Granted i'm a newbie compared to her. So she was pushing her pace dramatically fast to catch that 90 pound chick, and it seems like she was doing great, so all of the sudden she's about 3.5 miles from the finish and closing in on the #1 spot, and then she just stops!!! Starts crying, and walks off the course!!!!I had my headphones on while I was watching the TV (via reading closed caption) and of course doing my crosstraining, and when she did that I yelled out "Holy shit, oh no!!" Damned that made me want to cry, I felt soo bad for this person, that totally sucks. Her name is Paula Radcliffe and she's from Great Britain. My heart literally dropped. From what I could gather, and now that i'm reading online about her she was favored to take gold!Another cool pic i found of that competition.

Secret Spot Pt. II

Saturday, August 21, 2004 11:36 PM

So..I found a new area to my secret spot. It's even better than my previous location. I love it to death. Especially towards closing. So i'm sitting right next to a window, and I can look across the street and see all of these people my age waiting in line to what i think is a bar/lounge/club. I'm thinking I could just go home, clean up, and check this place out. But I'd be by myself...it's tempting...very tempting. Oh man...if the guys were here I bet they'd be down to check this place out. Oh well I guess that's why I'm up here to focus on me, not on fun. Well focusing on me is suppose to be fun, right? I'm in that "things happen for a reason" mode again. Hehe, so far i've been enjoying my new toy a whole lot. I don't know how I could've ever lived without it!!! Amazing...this is the way computing was meant to be, honestly, hands down.

Secret Spot, new Friend

Saturday, August 21, 2004 10:07 PM

Well it looks like i've found my way back to my thinking place. It's kinda cool. I've giving my new toy a whirl and seeing how easy it is to do things/tasks I normally do. Honestly it's like stepping into a whole new world of stuff. It's pretty cool. So far so good, just gotta setup my messaging stuff, and then see how I can somehow import my contacts from Evolution. :-)

I think hell is freezing over...

Saturday, August 21, 2004 06:09 PM

I have decided to play the field....my previously owned new toy is here and I'm reconfiguring it as we speak.

I'm using mBloggy

Saturday, August 21, 2004 03:47 AM

I'm currently using mBloggy a blogger API front end that uses XML-RPC to talk to movable type, because it implements the Blogger API. It's pretty awesome. I'll get a screen shot of it later. mBloggy is written in mono and meant to be used in the Gnome Desktop. Get it at the Novell Forge here, or goto the project website.

Sunbird

Friday, August 20, 2004 06:19 PM

I used to use the Firefox extension that was coined "Calendar", but now it seems to have grown up!!!!! And it's awesome!!! I swear the Mozilla Organization has finally gotten this stuff right!!! Coolest thing is that is support the ical format.

Ocean Avenue

Thursday, August 19, 2004 03:57 PM

So I was listening to whatever station it is up here in San Jose, that after about 11 months, I was finally able to find which station up here is in the "KROQ" affiliated format. I don't know the station name and quite frankly I don't care cause it's not "KROQ," but they were playing the usual genere's that are on "KROQ." So I heard this one song by Yellowcard called "Ocean Avenue." The lyrics to that song are perfect. I think I'm going to be getting their album, "The Killers", a couple of "Coldplay's" latest, and of course when 08/24/04 hits I'll be there again for the latest "Saves the Day" and "Hot Rod Circuit" albums.

Where You Want To Be

Thursday, August 19, 2004 03:49 PM

I'm once again amazed but this band. Taking Back Sunday's latest album "Where You Want To Be" is awesome. I thought they might have "dropped the ball." When I got out of the store the first thing I did was open their CD up and start playing it. I wasn't impressed by it at all. I'd have to say my first impressions of albums are sometimes (most of the time) off, but I finally got it loaded into the iPod last night, and have been listening to it all day. It's as good or even better than their first.

Fantasy Football Time

Figuring out how to Plot Track Data

Wednesday, August 18, 2004 11:08 AM

There's an existing program that's developed by some guy that lives in Palo Alto. He claims he does it for fun.

Self Sufficient

Tuesday, August 17, 2004 04:03 PM

This so far has been quite the experience. An eye opener. I've never really tried to push myself this much, and be this focused in sometime, if not ever! I'm barely starting out down this long path, but I think in the end no matter what the outcome it's all for the experience.

Coming right along....

Tuesday, August 17, 2004 01:28 PM

Things in general are coming right along. So far I've almost met my goals for the week on Project Crossbow. I'm rather hungry at the moment, so I think I'll be getting some lunch!

Free Tattoo

Monday, August 16, 2004 10:45 AM

Check out this pic. Turns out this girl was skating to a friend's apartment and ate shit. In doing so she ends up falling on a man hole cover that was really hot. She didn't' realize it was going to give her a free tattoo. I think that's kinda cool. It definitely beats those played out butterfly tattoo's almost all of the freaks out there have.

An update to heatxsink.com?

Monday, August 16, 2004 02:59 AM

Yups, it's in the works, it's time to refine the site design to something a little more suiting. But unfortunately it's on the back burner for now. I'm thinking some kind of prairie theme. Although, I feel that it has to have some black and red, so perhaps the color scheme will not be changing. I'm thinking I'll be re-organizing the menu bar, and implementing more of the unimplemented menu items for now, then shoot for a theme change...?!!!! But first I gotta get my 12" Apple Powerbook G4 and of course it has to have bluetooth...woorah!!!!

A legit Businessman

More progress over the weekend...

Monday, August 16, 2004 02:52 AM

Wow it seems like not matter how tired I get I can't quite get to bed!!! I'm going to try now.... Finally settled on how I'm going to be importing the major data from my source. I also got Visual Studio .NET 2003 installed on my XP box at home!! Woohoo now we're jammin'.

Once again there are just some teaser screen shots. The project name isn't even openforerunner either. But a name, and a full fledged version is in the works. Looking at my timeline I should be at a beta in two weeks. We'll see how well I stick to my schedule. I still have to figure out the windows installer crap which is crazy but I think paco could lend a hand in that department!!! If you also look at the screenshot I've found some really awesome extentions for Firefox. One is a gmail new mail notifier, and the other is a cool RSS/Atom aggregator, called Sage. They are both making my life a whole lot more efficient!!! And it's awesome that it's all in my browser!

Sometimes work takes a little more time!

Saturday, August 14, 2004 11:19 PM

I'm at work on a Saturday night!! I can't believe I'm here. Ugh this is depressing when I think about it. But at least I'm learning more about the project. I guess one has to look at the positive side of things.

Substance

Friday, August 13, 2004 01:05 PM

This is yet another "technology" related blog. I found a cool website where one of the guys behind "eXtreme/Agile" methodology of programming have documented their exploration of C#!!! I think this could highly influence my development effort for my main side project at this point. Cause for some reason I've burned out on it. So I'll start reading this stuff and pray for devine influence cause i'm soo very close!!!! Anyways, I gotta get back to slaving over code, I have a deadline on monday. I think I wouldn't mind getting a picture of Elsa Benitez for my room. I need some motivation, and since I've yet to see someone around here that would motivate me other than the "office milf" (which is really pathetic when I think about it).

Gotta get back in the groove

Thursday, August 12, 2004 05:55 PM

I've done a lot of pondering about things in general, and I think I'm going to attempt another marathon. I guess it's time to battle myself again. It's a messed up mental thing. But it's so very challenging, and a very different way of seeing improvement. I think it will push my mental and physical self into this crazy level that needs to be explored, and conquered. But unfortunately all I can think about is mile 20 and how much pain I was experiencing. I hope to really get myself at the peak before the race this next time. I also think i'd like to do more hill workouts, I think that's a better way of training. But that's probably just me. I guess it's time for track workouts, and one long run every week again. It's basically time to get busy again! I can't believe I'm going to do this again. I mean the first time was pretty much "alright i'm going to do this...," then you get there and do it, and while you're doing it and you hit mile 20, you ask yourself, "why am I doing this?" Do I need to seriously experience this? I guess it makes sense to me because what the hell else am I going to do? Sit and watch TV, hell no.....perhaps occasionally, but no way am I going to engage in something that not only slows my motabilism, but also lowers my IQ! I mean dependancies are bad, umm kay? For some reason I see both them practiced quite frequently. I think sometimes people see comfort as the easy way out of a situation that requires thought and meditation. It's hard to be at peace with things and not be a push over, then there is an extreme where it's hard to not be at peace with things and completely not see where people are comming from and push them over. I think what I care about the most is not being comfortable. I see too many people making that mistake.

Wow, Elsa Benitez

Mmmm Donuts..

Thursday, August 05, 2004 10:44 AM

Weirdest thing about being in this relatively new group is the fact that every thursday I feel like i'm surrounded by 12 Homer Simpson's. And they all have the body shape of Homer too!!! This profession when I do think about it, is quite scary. All of this sitting, most of the people have some kind of carpal tunnel syndrome, or are constantly wearing wrist braces, and of course a gut. This is obviously not how man was intended to be used, neither was the intent of man to wage war either, but I guess this is life. And they've made choices that have dictated their current state, so I guess I can't really blame the environment or job. Every human has choice, unfortunately most of the time humans make bad choices.
