Going back...

Friday, October 29, 2004 10:26 AM

Damn, in a few hours I'll be home again. It's nice to be there, and great to have fun while there. Weirdest part of my weekend is going to see a cousin of mine get married. The craziest part of the entire thing is that he's the closest cousin to me in age, he's 31 I think. Seems to me like a ripe age to settle down, but makes me realize that I have to soak up this youth, it's being taken away from me quicker than I realize.

iLL WiLL Website

Thursday, October 28, 2004 12:36 PM

A co-worker just showed me this cool website entitled "iLL WiLL" it's pretty funny and features a almost weekly flash animation cartoon! Basically like Strongbad Email. This particular cartoon I was watching was mainly making fun of how companies are out sourcing tech support to countries like india!

Last Weekend Report...Finally!

Thursday, October 28, 2004 11:34 AM

With much filtering and not any pictures like the last time I give you the last weekend report!

At San Jose Airport, look how packed it is!!!!
Token pre-drunken madness picture.
Some of us can hold our own!!! Damn 100 proof Smirnoff!!!
The stuff tasted SO bad we even mixed it in the bottle!!
Josh being funny. I think that girl in the background is looking at Josh's bum.
I give you the Oliver Wolfe, he really could fit in my hand, it's amazing how small this little guy is!!!
The Wolfe's with little Oliver and Ethan the 8th dwarf!
Damn we finished a bottle like this!!!!???? I was actually considering buying that bottle for the house party.
I'm glad I didn't, it was a fun party though. This was in Claremont, with some Claremont Colleges peeps!!
This is a funny stuffed animal that our friend had, it's pretty funny.
This house is really awesome cause it has a firepit, a jaccuzi, and a gazebo in this huge backyard, perfect for a huge house party! At past parties that jaccuzi is known to be full of just women with no clothes! I think it was too cold!
The backyard and all of the people!

PHP Consulting...

Wednesday, October 27, 2004 04:53 PM

Dominic showed me this craigslist posting for a PHP consultant. This looks tempting.

Malaka

Wednesday, October 27, 2004 03:32 PM

So one of my co-workers went on this 3 month Greece trip for supporting the Olympics Data Center headquarters, and came back using this new word. It's pretty funny, and is really starting to catch on with all of the engineers here in my group. I also found it on this Urban Dictionary website. It's great! I can now say....."Your Mom is a Malaka!!!"

New iPods

Tuesday, October 26, 2004 04:11 PM

This iPod is $349 bucks, it's 20 gigs, it's essentially the same as the current 20gb click wheel, but it's laser signed on the back by the band, and I'm guessing comes with a dock and remote?
This iPod comes in two models 40gb ($499), and 60gb ($599). Touts a 15 hours battery life, color screen, and a new photo viewing capability. Still no show of a port to windows for iPhoto which I think is an amazing picture organizing program for OSX. Interesting. I wonder if apple has decided to slow production so that those 60gb models get bought up this Christmas. Cause last Christmas these iPods were not on the shelves, it tripped me out. I would just visit Fry's to drool over all of the stuff I normally drool over and I'd go and make my rounds at the apple section and the ipods wouldn't be in stock, there would always be some mom, or dad asking about when the next shipment would be coming in. Amazing!!

Ladder Theory

Tuesday, October 26, 2004 12:58 PM

My good buddy and car enthusiast Drew showed me this satire site on the ladder theory to dating. It's really funny.

Cake

Tuesday, October 26, 2004 12:52 PM

Listened to some Cake today, and came across this cool song called "Open Book". I thought i was cool.Artist: CakeTrack: Open BookAlbum: Fashion NuggetShe's writing, she's writing,She's writing a novel. She's writing, she's weaving,Conceiving a plot.It quickens, it thickens. You can't put it down now.It takes you, it shakes you,It makes you lose your thought. But you're caught in your own glory. You are believing your own stories.Writing your own headlines.Ignoring your own deadlines. But now you've gotta write them all again. You think she's an open book,But you don't know which page to turn to, do you?You think she's an open book,But you don't know which page to turn to, do you?Do you? Do you?You want her, confront her.Just open your window.Unbolt it, unlock it,Unfasten your latch. You want it, confront it.Just open your window. All you really have to do is ask.But you're caught in your own glory. You are believing your own stories.Timing your contractions.Inventing small contraptionsThat roll across your polished hardwood floors. You think she's an open book,But you don't know which page to turn to, do you?You think she's an open book,But you don't know which page to turn to, do you?Do you? Do you?You think she's an open book,But you don't know which page to turn to, do you?Do you? Do you? Do you?

Alive

Friday, October 22, 2004 12:47 PM

I'm pumped full of caffeine, and anxiously awaiting the 2 o'clock hour so that I can go back and pack my bags for an exciting weekend of fun! I am really not in the "going out" mood, but if it happens to come out of me, then so be it!!! These times are becoming far more scarce being the circumstances of life.

Big Time Doh!!

Wednesday, October 20, 2004 03:09 AM

Working hard, to find that one of the developers didn't check in a library he worked on a year ago! Hrmm, I hope that library didn't get deleted, cause that would suck! Going home now, hope to be back here in a few hours!!!

More Thoughts on Life in General

Tuesday, October 19, 2004 01:18 PM

Oh how I would love to be apart of these guys. I don't understand how they do it!!! Where do they get this energy from. And how do I, accomplish the same? I'm going to continue to push forward and figure this out, it's something I want soo badly. It would be very nice to be able to actually work on something that normal everyday people would be using. I had the opportunity to have dinner with someone who I consider to be a good friend this past weekend. He just changed jobs, and I asked him how he liked his job. I was assuming he was into it, cause I haven't seen him on AIM since he started his new job. He expressed that his level of commitment and focus are at levels he thought were high, yet he also expressed that he didn't have to _TRY_ to focus, he literally liked what he was doing so it came naturally. And so I think I understand a small bit of what it takes to be happy with what I have. I don't know if I would be happy at anyother place that develops software, I think that I'm totally just floating about, with focus on the things I like to do on my spare time. And work is just something I do to keep myself a-float.

Ximian Industrial Theme

Monday, October 18, 2004 11:43 PM

Finally got the Ximian Industrial Theme all setup on my Gnome desktop on my laptop. It's really cool, and I'm quite happy with the look and feel of it. I think i'm in love. It really seems to be quite light weight to!

Hrmm....what kind of sweatshirt should I make?

Holy stripper poles batman!

Friday, October 15, 2004 01:42 PM

I've seriously died and gone to heaven. Hrmm.....check this out. A year before I got out of college, I said I was going to have one of these in my bachelor pad. And now I look at this and think hrmm...I think it's time to make good on my word. I just think of this crazy ass moment where someone walks into the pad and sees this stripper pole in the middle of the living room. Most conservative people will be remark, "What is that?" I'd then proceed to explain that it's a stripper pole, and change the subject! It would be the funniest, weirdest moment ever. I could even imagine women, just wanting to "try it out." And asking, "Can i just try it...?", I'd then say sure......puahahahahaha!!! Corruption is a biatch!

Fish

Thursday, October 14, 2004 04:53 PM

Running / Workout Playlist

Thursday, October 14, 2004 01:50 PM

So far I found a program that will export a playlist out of iTunes, but I've yet to find a program what will export a playlist off your exisiting iPod!!! And so for now I leave you with just a portion of my running playlist, which isn't completely done yet, but I hope that it will be done sometime soon, and of course in a more friendly *.m3u format. But to hold you over for now here's a screen shot of my playlist in iTunes.

Possibly the best moment of summer...

Wednesday, October 13, 2004 04:41 AM

So of course summer is really over now. At least I think so, despite the wonderful California climate, and particularly up here in the bay area, one doesn't know what to prepare for. The micro-climates were killer to adapt to. So i'm accustomed to always having a sweatshirt with me. Anyways, so since it's become more apparent to me that summer is now gone. It's time to do a little recap of the best possible moment captured digitally. Now there's a ton of pictures that i've taken of my/our (for those where there) summer. I'd have to say thus far, it's one of the best, now granted I can't remember or reflect upon the last 5 summers concurrently, nor do I have anyone here right now that can also vouge for my opinion but here it goes. So our little sister decides she wants to treat herself to a tour of europe as a graduation present. So we send her off......and boy I feel bad for how we sent her off......... I know what you're thinking. Damn, you guys sent her off pretty damned good. Hahaha, oh man I can't even believe i've decided to put this on the web for everyone to view but, DAMN! But in her defense and unfortunately for Bob bitch tits (getting his handful) had his breasts fondled seconds before my slow ass digital camera did it's complex calculations about the light, before it finally snapped! Oh well, and since the lil sis is still technically on another continent, it's totally alright for me to be posting this shit, cause it's a great moment!!! Almost as good as catching some dude at a stanford alumni party doing an air conditioner!

Breaking rules

Wednesday, October 13, 2004 04:23 AM

I've broken one of my most upheld rules!!! Which is no self portraits. But you know what, I think that rule was going to get broken sooner or later!

One for Internet Explorer

Wednesday, October 13, 2004 04:10 AM

Here's to Internet Explorer's amazingly awesome way of conforming to w3c standards! I had stumbled across this before with how a friend has coded his css, and tested only with IE cause that's what "everyone" uses!!! I guess the word "everyone" is relative, and during that pre-firefox era where IE was the champ in the IE vs. Netscape battle. Well here's to tightly coupling yourself to a Microsoft psuedo standard, biatch! Merry Christmas and there's more where this came from!I'm not even gonna go there with how you set up Drew's template in blogger!

Yet another late night...

Wednesday, October 13, 2004 12:27 AM

Ahh yes, another late night. It seems that my buddy Drew has run into some problems with this site, and needs some help fixin' it. Since I promised, and he has counted 36 days have passed and still no action, he's threatening to retire the site, I can't have any of that!!! I hope we don't hit day 40!

Freezing my Nutts Off

Monday, October 11, 2004 03:11 AM

Yes i'm in Palo Alto at Happy Donuts freezing my nutts off outside on the patio! I find it very nice to be sitting out here enjoying the fresh air. I almost got this whole mason thing down now. It's pretty cool. I'm attempting to get mod_perl setup on my laptop so I can just develop ad-hoc to the sxemacs webserver, cause the connection speed to that machine seems rather slow, and it's most likely being served on Steve's machine out in Australia (mate!). So it's probably best to attempt to just setup my own server on my machine.

Sleep or lack there of...

Monday, October 11, 2004 12:07 AM

This has been an interesting weekend with lots of much needed rest. Which results in me staying up till it's time to goto work! Which isn't a bad thing, but not really a good thing either. Have lots to work on, it seems i've pretty much landed the job of updating or polishing the sxemacs website. Steve seems to have a ton of faith in me doing a decently excellent job. And i'm now going to have to delve my hands into mason with some real world application now. It seems that the website dude that i'll be helping is a perl whore which isn't a bad thing, and it's nice to always be up for a challange and see how other people do things in a bastardized language (read: perl). Anyways it's good to keep that toolbox stocked with tons of tools! On an entirely non-technical note.....It's funny how life sometimes starts to go in themes. I've just moved out of this whole "self-realization" theme, and are now transitioning into someother theme that has yet to be revealed to me. Perhaps there's something new to understand and grasp...which is always the case, and is mostly up to the individual to identify and solve. Enough with the rambling and on with the work!

gnome-blog kicks ass!!!

Sunday, October 10, 2004 11:49 PM

This is just awesome now I can blog as I feel like it on my linux box cause I have a thin client to post to this blog!!! If whatever i've just said doesn't make any sense to you..see screen shot below!

Hmm, Burnt Popcorn

Friday, October 08, 2004 12:30 PM

This is the second time this week someone has burnt popcorn here, so I decided to allow this mistake to be passed on to whom ever really wants to learn from this mistake. The smell here is unbearable, just think anything char'ed but then there's no ventilation here in this office, meaning no windows to open, just an A/C to blast!

And of course from the camera phone.......

Money, Money, Money

Thursday, October 07, 2004 04:27 PM

Possibly the best set of headphones ever created...and I want them....

More Ramblings from Idiot Ballmer!

Monday, October 04, 2004 10:01 AM

"You want a digital home, then step away from the Apple"Amazing this guy is just truly amazing, first Linux and threating to enforce the ludicrous patents MS has acquired and now they are going after poor Apple. I'm wondering if this guy thinks he's like The Rock on WWF or something. Honestly to me this guy is literally on crack, the shit that comes out of his mouth only makes Microsoft look more like a greedy monopoly than anything else. I mean come on at least be nice! This is SO sad when company can truly force feed consumers crap!!! I mean for the most part I hope Steve Jobs, stays silent and allow MS to completely blunder this. I mean MS has had a set top box, and his ultra fucked up WMA format that has been bastardized to death. And they've had it for years. Then comes along Apple with who is already on it's 4th generation of a portable media device, now granted it only does audio, but who in their right mind really wants video? I mean I honestly think that the battery technology needs to make a gigantic jump in order to provide device lifetime long enough to make a "personal media player" (which when I say that includes video) that is even worth considering. Then he comments here on iPod users are thieves! I should start translating everything guys says into what he's really after. He feels every iPod user is a thief because of course the iPod doesn't support the blessed WMA technology!"Weve had DRM in Windows for years. The most common format of music on an iPod is 'stolen'."True, but when the format first came out you changed it SO many times, it was a horrible hackish design, and not very extensible!!! Not to mention NEWSFLASH the Apple AAC technology is far superior to their very shitty WMA format. I should site many reasons here for comparison but I don't have the time for that."Most people still steal music," he said. "We can build the technology but there are still ways for people to steal music."And of course Steve your "great" company is going to help us (read: you make zillions of dollars) solve this ultra huge problem. Once again intimidate your competition publicly, and all of the drones will follow suit. Man every time this guy opens his mouth someone needs to stick a shoe in there. This kind of public slandering should be illegal!!! Where are the lawyers, shit that's right they own all the good ones! Fuck!

Cable and Phone Companies going out of business?

Friday, October 01, 2004 12:54 PM

Check out this article, it talks about this guy that has used his Sharp Zaurus SL-6000 to serve as a VOIP phone, a Cell Phone, and his desktop PC. It's pretty awesome. Definitely something i'd like to do. I had already mentioned to my roommate that since we lack a TV in our living room and we both have TV cards in our rooms, that running some kind of streaming TV service kind of thing in the living room to our laptops would be ideal. He agreed. Now granted that my roommate is a Mac enthuist and he's not too techno-savvy. I guess my idea might work good with normal people, not just techno-nerds.
