Bill Gates, made a all too obvious prediction last week. I agree with him, but he's stating the obvious. Why does he even need to speak? I think it's cause, "I'm Bill Gates, and I need promote my companies latest product." The product of course is their determination to make every device run some variant of their Windows Operating System. So of course good ol' Bill is plugging their newly renamed mobile platform, (a.k.a. Windows CE) Windows Mobile 5.0 (I know wow, 5th revision?). Of course to run Mobile Devices, but more specifically cell phones, which he prophetically states will take out the iPod, cause of course cell phones will do everything, if they don't already. I mean look at the Treo the 600 and 650 both do almost everything, they take pictures, connect to the Internet, and play music. I think hardware-wise we're almost to the point where a device could literally replace your other independent items, what sucks is the quality, it's just not quite there yet, but like I said close. I still can't see myself working out at the gym with my cell phone, as my music player. I don't want to be one of those lamer ass people that work out then decide to take a call while working out, I really hate that, the phone stays in the car, or goes in your locker!!!
