Amazing. Simply amazing. Honestly from this past year's worth of events, I'm very thankful for life, and the lessons learned. In the 26th year of my life I've met some really extraordinary people, and I only hope this gets all the more frequent, with the 27th. I find myself surrounded, by genuine friends, and for this words cannot describe how truly grateful I feel. For those of you whom I have left in the Bay Area, I hope we keep in touch, and don't worry <Arnold>I'll be back!</Arnold> If anyone actually reads this site, thanks for reading, I assure you I'm not dead yet, I believe I should have at least 27 more years of adventures, technology view points, sony attempts at format domination, microsoft proprietarism, finding out that Ballmer and Gates are really lovers, and plenty of other bullshit to attempt writing about. Until then, may time keep on passing all of us right on by, and nothing but strippers, casino smoke, one night stands, AIDS, war, various venereal diseaes, kids out of wetlock, kids in general, marriage; plague only the people that truly want or deserve it. Amen, and Rock on.
My ex-office mate was selling some of his REALLY old records, and he came across this circa 1977 piece of vinyl / sci-fi history. The album cover was in pretty good condition I'm pretty sure he could find a buyer. So I decided it would be cool to test out my l337 photo taking skillz, and snap a few pics. As for the now "ex" office mate you will be missed, we had some few but good times, best of luck in your new venture.
For those of you hardcore crying out your lungs in your car, or in private emo fans, Dashboard Confessional's latest offering entitled "Dusk and Summer," truly doesn't dissapoint. I know this kind of music makes for great solo car rides across state. So if you're SO anxious and can't wait like myself to test drive your ears to the sounds of this all SO emotional music check out "The Leak" on MTV.com, or just click here. The only downside is that it seems that MTV is Microsoft Media Player the master of psuedo standards, and proprietarism, so OSX, and Linux/Gnome users good luck at getting this preview to work!
My goal this summer is to not be as pale as that "Computer Programmer." Then again I could be stereotyped into what Apple thinks I am as a user of Apple products, which is clearly NOT me.
The Apple commercial with the Japanese girl in it was definitely funny. By far the new "Out of the Box" commercial is my favorite!<KevinSmithChasingAmyStyledRant>Perhaps Apple should hire Spike Lee to make their next set of commercials! Maybe someone should also mention how Apple has now started to sell iPods, and MacBook's in black, but do not have any commercials with any people of ethnicity other than the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant's (one of them might be jewish...) and with the exception of that Japanese girl. What are they really saying? That only White Anglo-Saxon Protestant's and Asians, specifically the Japanese buy Apple products? I just find it all to ironic that Apple being the progressively "think different", "designed in california" company that it is, is now using this marketing ploy. In all fairness, products need to be marketed, that's a given. Here's the kicker, with technology, specifically computer products, it's all about the experience, and I think that's where the marketing of these kinds of products need to evolve. That's what is REALLY important! </KevinSmithChasingAmyStyledRant>
Among other things, I finally found some time to put the finishing touches on my digital picture frame project. I also got Ubuntu LTS installed on it, it takes forever to update, and boot, but once it's up, it works great!
Now if I can just dig up some code I hacked long ago in C/Gtk to browse a bunch of thumbnails with the Griffin Powermate.
I was in the check out line at Target and saw Post-it Picture Paper. I couldn't resist giving it a try, plus it only costs $1.63. All I have to say is that I'm hooked! I'm going back and buying more, this is the coolest idea EVER! I can't wait to print out more of my digital photos, and slap them on the wall.![]()
Somehow I've also noticed that I have a good number of pictures where I'm always giving the bird to the camrea. I think it is absolutely hilarious. I think I'm going to start a "Wall of Shame" in the bathroom downstairs.

While sick, the only thing I could do is sleep, and when I didn't sleep all I could do is watch DVD's. One of my favorites is The Life Aquatic. A character in this film plays an acoustic guitar and sings David Bowie covers in Portuguese. Some Google research led me to find out that the character is in fact a music artist by the name of "Seu Jorge." It seems he released an album of those David Bowie covers entitled, "The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions."
I don't think I've ever been sick in June, this is a first.
