If you're a big fan of Evan Williams read this. He comments on how people don't refer to the company they REALLY work for but rather the aquired company they work for. I'd have to say that's absolutely the case. I'm in that situation right now, and it's easier to just state that I work for <insert aquired social networking site here>. I think it's just the quickest way of telling someone where you work, and what you work on in the shortest number of request/responses possible. Not the "Where do you work?", then the "What exactly do you work on for <insert large internet company name here>?", traditional two (or more) way request(s)/response(s).
