So a few weeks back I was outside of our beautiful building. Out with the rest of the "MySpacers" conducting themselves in the sport of "smoking!" (I wasn't participating though...) On the first floor of our building there are other business units of FIM (Fox Interactive Media) doing their thing, and grinding away. I looked in this one window to observe this one developer using his MacBook Pro in a very odd way. Almost Xgl-like. (If there's such a phrase!) So I'm outside watching him, and he did this keystroke then his entire destkop does that "rotating cube thing," but this time dropping down. Which I thought was awesome especially since it was OSX, and not Xgl! I just couldn't help myself. I left my group of people outside, and marched right inside (okay not really marched) to introduce myself and ask what piece of software he was using. The software in question, "VirtueDesktops," and you can visit their website here. I'm pleased to report that it works great on my PowerBook G4 667/1GB of ram. Not nearly as crappy as when I hacked my PowerBook to run FrontRow! While I'm on the Apple rant, I'm pleased to announce that I will be attending Macworld, in San Francisco this year! (I'm trying to never miss a Macworld from here on out.) I can't wait. I might even spring for a MacBook Pro! For those of you in the Bay Area I haven't had the chance to talk with, please feel free to contact me, and lets get some drinks!
